First floor addition extension & renovation in Perranporth

The Brief

Cornwall Build delivered this project from initial construction through to Building Control sign-off. The work involved removing the existing hipped roof and ceiling structure, installing new structural floor joists, and constructing an entirely new storey to the property.

The Build

The build required more than 700kg of structural steel, including a double-web goalpost RSJ arrangement, all installed to engineer specifications. We worked closely with the architects throughout to ensure every detail—from DPCs and U-values to the structural elements—was exactly as designed.

Externally, the property was finished with fully fire-protected Thermowood​ Ayous cladding, paired with anthracite accents and a Restec Flexitec 2020 fibreglass roof, as featured on their social media.

MKM Redruth supplied the full materials package, including the kitchen, where we also added a few bespoke in-house touches such as the LED-lit wine cabinet and worktop detailing.

The Outcome

A fantastic project overall, delivering a major transformation and significantly increasing the property’s value.
